Max Verstappen is guaranteed a contract with Red Bull until the end of 2028, but the Dutchman said that when it's time to leave the track, he sees no attraction in accepting a technical position just to stay in F1

Max Verstappen is only 24 years old, but he already has a Formula 1 career worthy of a veteran, competing in 2022 for his eighth season in the category. But the reigning champion has admitted that he sees no attraction to staying in F1 in technical roles when the time comes to stop racing.
The Dutchman, who leads the Drivers' World Championship with a nine-point lead over Charles Leclerc, has a contract with Red Bull guaranteed until 2028, when he will be 31. Although it is too early to talk about retirement, Verstappen was asked by the Dutch magazine "Formule 1" what he thinks for the future.

"You will not see me as an analyst or in some function in the team," the driver said. "I have no motivation for that. When I'm not a driver anymore, I want to do other fun things," he added, pointing out that "it will probably be good to step away from that for a while" when it's time to hang up his helmet.
Max's father, Jos Verstappen, has also competed in F1 and currently participates in the Belgian Rally Championship. About following in his father's footsteps and venturing into another category, the driver did not rule out the possibility, but made one caveat.
"The problem is that when I participate in something I really want to win. But I know I never had that experience, I didn't grow up in rallying," he concluded.
Verstappen returns to action this weekend for the eighth round of the 2022 F1 season in Azerbaijan. GRANDE PRÊMIO follows all track activities from Friday's free practice LIVE and IN REAL TIME.
