Max Verstappen offered simple advice to Charles Leclerc after the Monegasque suffered another disappointment at the Azerbaijan GP.
Leclerc was leading when his Ferrari started smoking on lap 21. He was forced to return to the pits and abandon the race.
Something similar happened at the Spanish GP, and the Monaco race also ended badly for Leclerc, who fell from first to fourth due to a strategic error by the team.
Leclerc admitted after the race in Baku that it was his "third disappointment in a row" and asked the Scuderia to make improvements.
Meanwhile, Verstappen took another victory in Azerbaijan and extended his lead in the championship.
Despite the rivalry between the two, the Dutchman understands how Leclerc must be feeling because he has been through similar situations.
"I would always say that m*rdas happen," Verstappen told the media. "That's the way racing is. It has happened to me and many people in the past."
"Unfortunately, it is occurring to Charles. If I were in the same situation, I would also be disappointed. I believe it is perfectly normal."
Leclerc may be having a difficult time, but Verstappen offered some advice for the Monegasque to recover.
"The important thing is how you come out of it," he explained. "You always think about how to improve things. That's also what we did at the beginning of the season. You learn from it."
"It's unpleasant and you get angry, but we turned it around. But we can't relax because something else could happen and you always try to avoid those problems.
