The Red Bull driver was supreme on the race weekend in Canada. In the rain, no one could match his speed. On Sunday, Ferrari came closest to Verstappen, but even the help of a Safety Car was not enough to make things really difficult for him.
Verstappen reacted very satisfied after the race. "The Safety Car didn't help. I think overall they were very fast in the race, it would have been hard to close that gap even with newer tires," he said.
"I was giving everything I had and he was doing the same. He was pushing and the last few laps were a lot of fun," said the Dutchman to Jenson Button.
"Overall, they were very strong in the race and it would have been difficult to overtake. I preferred to attack rather than defend, but in the end it worked out," concluded the Canadian GP winner.
