But Verstappen won for the first time in Azerbaijan and broke Sebastian Vettel's record as the youngest driver to win 25 times in Formula One

Max Verstappen made peace with the Baku street circuit and won for the first time the Azerbaijan GP last Sunday (12). This was the Dutchman's 25th career victory in Formula 1, making him, at the age of 24 years and 255 days, the youngest driver in the history of the category to reach the mark.
The old record belonged to Germany's Sebastian Vettel, who took his 25th victory at the age of 25 years and 103 days at the 2012 Korean Grand Prix, also with Red Bull. That year, Vettel would win his third consecutive world championship in dramatic fashion in Brazil.

Michael Schumacher is third in the ranking, having won for the 25th time at the age of 28 years and 177 days, in the 1977 French GP with Ferrari. The list also includes two other champions from the current grid. Fernando Alonso, at 29 years and 59 days, won the 2010 Singapore GP with Ferrari, and Lewis Hamilton, who at 29 years and 103 days triumphed at the 2014 China GP.
Verstappen also holds a few other similar records. In 2014, he became the youngest driver to participate in a Formula One weekend at the age of 17 years and three days. The following year, he broke Jaime Alguersuari's record for youngest driver to participate in a race. In his first race with Red Bull in 2016, the Dutchman won the Spanish GP at just 18 years and 228 days old, surpassing Vettel's mark.
Max leads the 2022 Formula One Drivers' World Championship with 150 points, 21 ahead of his teammate, Sergio Pérez. Verstappen is back on track this Sunday (19) for the Canadian GP, with full coverage by GRANDE PRÊMIO.
