Charles Leclerc took his fourth consecutive pole of the season, but it was Fernando Alonso who came out on top of the Speed Trap in Baku

Alpine's Fernando Alonso hit top speed in qualifying this Saturday (12) for the Azerbaijan GP. The two-time world champion Spaniard starts in tenth place, but hit 323.6 km/h in Baku.
Just 0.1 km/h slower than Alonso, Sebastian Vettel took second place, while Alpine teammate Esteban Ocon hit 323.1 km/h speed. Fourth was Williams' Nicholas Latifi with 320.6 km/h, and fifth was reigning Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen with 320.2 km/h.
In sixth place was Red Bull's Sergio Perez with 320.1 km/h. In seventh position was the pole-position for the race, Charles Leclerc, with 319.4 km/h. Alexander Albon, Kevin Magnussen, and Carlos Sainz rounded out the top ten fastest drivers.

The Speed Trap disappointment in Azerbaijan is down to the Mercedes and McLaren duo: Lewis Hamilton was 17th fastest with 311.2 km/h, George Russell (18th) came in at 310.7 km/h, Lando Norris (19th) with 310.5 km/h, and at the bottom was Australian Daniel Ricciardo, with a mere 310 km/h.
