Schumacher relies on pressure and hindsight to get into F1 2022

Aside from the internal pressure at Haas, one need only look at Mick Schumacher's career to attest to another important factor for his 're-match' in the 2022 Formula 1 season. In the grassroots categories, the major titles he won were in 2018 and 2020, with Formula 3 and Formula 2, respectively. In those seasons, Schumacher only grew in contention in the second half of the calendar - a milestone that F1 will start in France, the next round

After a bad start to the year, Mick Schumacher has turned the corner. He scored in Silverstone and Spielberg, true, but he could have been in the scoring zone already in Canada - had it not been for a problem in his Haas. The German definitely has a good momentum going into the 2022 Formula One season.

According to the driver himself, his recent performance level has increased thanks to Guenther Steiner's internal comments. The Haas boss has publicly charged Schumacher and pressured him with his public statements. It worked, of course.

But beyond that, one only has to look at the career of the son of the seven-time world champion Michael to attest to another important factor. In the grassroots categories, the main titles he won were in 2018 and 2020, with Formula 3 and Formula 2, respectively. In such seasons, Schumacher only grew in contention in the second half of the calendar - a milestone that F1 will kick off in France, the next round.

Besides the (exaggerated) criticism and pressure, Schumacher is a slow driver to adapt - he always was. Only after a tortuous period does the German show his true potential. Reporter Felipe Leite such factors and characteristics in today's video.
