The Haas driver credited team boss Guenther Steiner's comments for the good moment in the current season. In the last two races, 12 points for the German - and all thanks to the internal charge
Sixth place in Austria, eighth place in Silverstone, a real chance of points in Canada wasted due to a car problem... Mick Schumacher is definitely living a good moment in the 2022 Formula 1 season - his best in the category. And according to the German driver himself, his performance level went up a notch thanks to Guenther Steiner's internal comments.
The Haas boss demanded Schumacher publicly and pressured him with his public statements. It worked.
"As an athlete, you're always looking for that pressure because that's what will 'light the flame' that makes you go faster. And (Guenther Steiner's comments) did that in a way. Getting into the scoring zone at Silverstone was exactly what I needed for things to start going right for me," Schumacher pointed out.
About the sixth position achieved in Spielberg, the Haas driver exalted the team's capacity to be at the front of the intermediate group. For the second time in a row, the two drivers from the American team finished in the scoring zone - Kevin Magnussen was 8th at the Red Bull Ring.
"It was a lot of fun. We battled our way up through the pack, which is sometimes not good, but in this case it was great for experience and also to show what we are really capable of," Schumacher concluded.
The 2022 Formula One season continues in two weeks, July 22-24, at Paul Ricard in the French Grand Prix.
