Carlos Sainz managed to maintain his starting position for tomorrow's race, despite nearly overtaking teammate Charles Leclerc early in the short race. The Ferrari driver will start on the second row of the grid on Sunday as he looks to jump ahead of Max Verstappen and Leclerc from P3 on the grid.

In a short post-race interview for Sky Sports, Sainz immediately said, "I had a good start, then some fights with Max in turn 3 and then Charles in turn 3. It was good fun and a good race."

He admits that he probably overheated his tires a bit, causing him to pull away from his teammate late in the race. "First of all, we need to improve the pace a little bit," the Ferrari driver acknowledged.

"He (Max) had a good pace at the start. It's a long race and anything can happen. We will try our best to beat Max tomorrow," the Spaniard concluded.
