Sainz: Verstappen will also make mistakes

Carlos Sainz defended his teammate Charles Leclerc after his crash at the French GP.

Leclerc was furious with himself, took full responsibility for the incident, and described his mistakes as "unacceptable."

Sainz, who came in fifth, expressed sympathy saying that the intensity of the championship will likely affect all drivers at some point.

"It's a treacherous corner. We were very fast in that corner all weekend, it's where we were quite strong," Sainz told the media.

"I think we are pushing as hard as we can at the front this year, we are not leaving any margin, and mistakes like that can occur because we are accelerating everything at the front."

"It's crazy the risks we're taking, how much we're pushing, and I've also already made a mistake in a race. Charles made one on Sunday, Max will make one eventually, so it can happen."
