Carlos Sainz reiterated that the car still needs to be studied for the Hungarian GP, but he left Friday's free practice session satisfied
Ferrari is seen as the favorite for the Hungarian GP. And on Friday (29), Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc led both practice sessions. The Spaniard, who finished ahead of Max Verstappen by 0s13s in Tl1, liked the pace on the first day of activities at the Hungaroring.
"It was an interesting Friday. The car was very good as soon as we left the garage in TL1 and we were able to do some very good laps. In TL2, we tried some setup changes to evaluate which direction was best for tomorrow and for the race," he pointed out.
"We lost our hand a bit, but we are well placed in terms of car balance and pace. It looks like tomorrow will be on a wet track, so we will have to adapt to the conditions. Today was a positive day for the team, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the weekend," he finished.
The Italian team saw the Taurus open up an 82-point lead in the Constructors' World Championship after the French GP. Leclerc is second in the Drivers' championship, while Sainz is fourth, 26 points behind his teammate.
