Carlos Sainz commented that he suffered a bit in TL1 in Baku, but appreciated the setup Ferrari had for TL2, not only in speed, but also in car control

Carlos Sainz left Friday (10) in Baku with feelings similar to those of Max Verstappen. Discreet on the timesheets, the Spaniard blamed the yellow flags at the wrong moments and explained that what matters is that Ferrari knew how to evolve the car setup between one session and the next.
The Spaniard talked about the complication he had in TL1 regarding the car's adaptation with the track, but how Ferrari improved in the second free practice.
"It was an interesting Friday, it always is here in Baku. TL1 had some challenges, I suffered a bit, especially with the kicks, which made practice quite uncomfortable. But we worked in the right direction for TL2, got more competitive and improved the sensations in the car," he said.

Sainz seems optimistic for the rest of the weekend in Baku, but charged a final evolution still for qualifying.
"Overall, it was a quiet TL2, even though we didn't complete a clean lap because of the yellow flags. We are looking forward to improve even more tomorrow and have a smooth qualifying," he added.
Sainz is in fifth place in the Drivers' World Championship, with 83 points earned. The Spaniard is 42 below the leader, Max Verstappen.
