Ricciardo teams up with streaming platform to produce series on Formula 1

Very soon - and as far as Daniel Ricciardo is concerned - Netflix will not be the only platform to have a series about Formula 1 in its catalog. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Australian will produce a series in partnership with the Hulu platform that will have the world's top motorsport category as a backdrop.

There is not much information yet about the synopsis of the show, but it will be a fiction series with 30-minute-long episodes. Ricciardo will be the executive producer of the project, which is still in search of a scriptwriter.

The McLaren driver did not give any official statement about the series, but shared in the stories of his official Instagram account the news with a smiling emoticon.

Besides the already popular Drive to Survive, which is heading towards its fifth season on Netflix, other projects about Formula 1 are in the works and with drivers involved. Lewis Hamilton, for example, is in the production of an Apple TV movie that will have Brad Pitt in the cast. The story will be about a veteran driver who gives up retirement to join a rookie on an F1 team.

While he ventures into fiction, Ricciardo's future for 2023 remains unclear, even though he has a contract with McLaren until the end of next season. The Australian, who was challenged by the team's CEO, Zak Brown, for his underwhelming performance at the beginning of the year, has improved in the last few races, but is still on the sidelines.
