Red Bull seeks solution to Verstappen's DRS problem

Red Bull says it is trying to fix the vibration in Max Verstappen's rear wing in time for second free practice in Baku.

The world champion's rear wing appeared to be vibrating and flexing on the long straight of the street circuit when the DRS was open.

This has already caught the attention of Red Bull's rivals. When asked if teams like Ferrari and Mercedes might complain, Horner said laughingly to : "I think they've already done that!"

"Obviously, we have seen and have the data, plus the comparison with Sergio's (Perez) wing, so I think we need to make some modifications or adjustments to eradicate that this afternoon."

Despite possible complaints against Red Bull's rear wing, Horner said there was no time gain from the component's malfunction.

He was also asked whether the problem was caused by Red Bull's efforts to further reduce weight. It is rumored that the team is trying to bring the weight of its car closer to the minimum limit of 798 kg.

Verstappen already faced problems with DRS at the Spanish GP when Red Bull tried to lower the weight before that weekend.

"Weight is always a critical factor and obviously you look for that in the whole car," Horner said.

"However, there was a difference between the cars, so we just need to look at the setup and the stiffness. I hope we can resolve that for this afternoon. It's not improving the performance. The guys are working on it and it should be solved.
