Mick Schumacher scored his first Formula 1 points in the last two races and got a lot of attention from Red Bull

It is almost a year and a half since Mick Schumacher scored his first Formula 1 points. He has now been in the points zone for two races in a row: he finished eighth in England and sixth in Austria - and also had some good battles on the track. And the young German's performance draws the attention, above all, of Red Bull.
Helmut Marko, the taurine's consultant, tried to keep it quiet, but hinted that he is keeping his eyes open on the #47. Known for discovering and betting on young talents, he talked about Schumacher's improved performance.
"We follow young drivers in general," he said, when asked about Mick: "Without the technical problem in Montreal, he [Schumacher] would have finished in the points there too. It seems he needs real pressure and criticism, so it works," he added.

In the lower divisions, the 23-year-old was known to take a long time to adapt. That was the case when he arrived in Formula 3 in 2017. The following year, he was champion. Same thing in F2, he competed reasonably well in 2019 and won the title in 2020. Marko believes this happens in F1 as well.
"With one race after another [in F3], he suddenly became a winning driver. Something similar happened in Formula 2 and is apparently part of his training," he concluded.
Mick is 15th in the Drivers' World Championship with 12 points. Haas is seventh with 34 points. Although far from the frontrunners, the American team is in a much better position compared to recent years.
