On the very day that Piquet's interview is in the headlines around the world for calling Lewis Hamilton a "nigga," the Red Bull team has expelled junior driver Juri Vips from any role in its organization following its investigation into a color-biased insult from the Estonian during a live broadcast.
The 21-year-old FIA Formula 2 driver was suspended from all duties with the team with immediate effect last week after he was heard using the word "Nigga" on Twitch during a live video game broadcast.
Red Bull followed the suspension with an investigation into the matter, the conclusion of which is now known.
"Following an investigation into an online incident involving Juri Vips, Oracle Red Bull Racing has terminated Juri's contract as a test and reserve driver," the team statement said.
"The team does not tolerate any form of racism."
Vips, who races for the British Hitech Grand Prix team in F2, made his F1 practice debut with Red Bull at last month's Spanish GP in Barcelona.
Hitech GP has not yet officially commented on whether Vips will remain with the junior team or not.
In any case, he is no longer listed as a Red Bull junior.
