Christian Horner is confident that Red Bull can fight for victory at the Azerbaijan GP despite their loss to Ferrari in qualifying.
Speaking after the grid was set, Horner argued that the fact that Red Bull has focused more on setting up their cars for the race could allow them to clinch victory in Baku.
"We are totally focused on Sunday, but I think there is always a trade-off that you make with single lap speed," Horner told .
"I believe Ferrari has had that in the last few stages, but I think our race pace tends to be very good."
"Czech is on that wave of confidence from Monaco and did a good lap even without a vacuum. Max is also in contention. I still think we can do well in the race."
Despite his optimism about Red Bull's race pace, Horner added that the performance will be worthless if they can't avoid the potential obstacles on the Baku circuit.
"I believe the safety car will be a big factor here. We saw it in the preliminary races and also quite a bit of action in qualifying, so I think it will play a role."
"We just want to adopt the right strategy. I believe the rear tires will also be crucial here."
"Nobody has really done long stints, so it's a bit of a journey into the unknown, but hopefully we have focused on having a good car in the race and can confirm that tomorrow."
