Red Bull considers copying Aston Martin's rear wing

Christian Horner doesn't rule out the possibility of Red Bull Racing copying Aston Martin's new rear wing in the future. It is not yet certain whether the clever solution of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll's team is compliant with the rules, as the wing does not seem to be in line with the intentions of the new regulations.

Earlier this season, Aston Martin was suspected of copying Red Bull's car. At the Spanish Grand Prix, the team presented a B-spec car that looked very much like Red Bull's car. According to the FIA, there was no problem and no further action was taken.

In terms of performance, however, the car was quite disappointing. Vettel and Stroll have had to work hard all season to finish in the points.
Aston Martin is only in ninth place in the Constructors' Championship. For the Hungarian Grand Prix, Aston Martin has come up with its own clever solution to create more downforce with the rear wing.

"If it's in accordance with the rules, it's a possible way forward. And who knows, maybe we will copy something from Aston Martin instead of the other way around," Horner said during the team bosses' press conference, quoted by Formula One journalist Erik van Haren on Twitter.

There has been no word yet from the FIA about an inspection of the rear wing, but the new part will undoubtedly be investigated. Indeed, the remaining teams have their doubts about the legality of the rear wing.
