Sergio Pérez questioned the development of the RB18, as he admitted he no longer felt as comfortable in the car

Vice-leader of the Formula 1 2022 championship, Sergio Pérez has one victory and six podiums in ten races. Seemingly better adapted, the Mexican has achieved good results and has already secured his place at Red Bull until 2024. However, after the many upgrades to the RB18, 'Checo' doesn't feel that comfortable anymore.
"I don't feel as comfortable in the car as I did at the beginning of the year, let's say. So I think I first have to understand what is happening," he said in an interview with the Motorsport-Total website.

While the 32-year-old driver's statement is an indication that the team is tailoring the car to Max Verstappen's style, it wasn't too long ago that he was experiencing 'the best of worlds' with the Taurins.
"I'm definitely more comfortable with the car than I was last year. For example, it took me a little longer to adapt to the 2021 model. This year, I feel that from the first free practice I can work on the car, rather than exploring how to get the most out of it. So that's a big difference over the weekend," Pérez acknowledged a few weeks ago.
In the Drivers' World Championship, Pérez has 147 points - 34 behind leader and Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen. As for the Constructors' Championship, the Austrian team is 'swimming in the water': 328 points, well ahead of Ferrari, which is second and has 265.
