Pérez explains quick adaptation and says he is "more comfortable than in 2021" at Red Bull

Sergio Pérez is a new driver in F1 2022. Instead of a season of ups and downs, like last year, the Mexican showed himself fully adapted to the RB18 since the first round of the category, in Bahrain. And it shows in the F1 charts.

In the Drivers' World Championship, 'Checo' is second, with 129 points - 46 behind the leader and Red Bull teammate, Max Verstappen. In the Constructors' Championship, the Austrian team is a close second: 304 points, well ahead of Ferrari, which is second and has 228.

Therefore, it is undeniable that Pérez has become an important factor in F1 since the first day of the championship. And, in the Mexican's words, this is precisely because of his quick adaptation to the RB18.

"I'm definitely more comfortable with the car than I was last year. For example, it took me a little longer to adapt to the 2021 model. This year, I feel that from the first free practice I can work on the car, rather than exploring how to get the most out of it. So that's a big difference throughout the weekend," explained the driver.

"When I go to qualifying practice I am much more prepared and similarly when I go to the race I think we have a good 'base'. I'm confident with the car and I know what I have to do with the team to get the most out of it," Pérez added.

The 'Czech' will have one more chance to show his good performance in the season this weekend, when Formula 1 returns to action with the British GP. GRANDE PRÊMIO follows everything LIVE and in REAL TIME.
