Pérez exalts his work with Red Bull and says he will live the "best moment of his career" in 2022

Almost two weeks ago, Sergio Pérez took his first victory of 2022 - his third career victory - at the Monaco GP. This same season, the Mexican also took his first pole position in Formula 1, in Jeddah, and now has the guarantee of his future at Red Bull, since he renewed his contract until 2024. After ups and downs last year, 'Czech' is living the 'best of all worlds' - something he himself agrees.

"I was very happy to extend my contract with the team until at least 2024," Perez said. "It shows the great work we have done together and how happy we are with each other," he added.

"Having my future decided allows me to keep my focus on the main goal, which is to win races and world titles. Today, I think I am at the best moment of my career and driving for a team that always strives for perfection, which is the perfect combination for me," he followed.

The #11 is only 25 points behind his teammate and World Drivers' Cup leader Max Verstappen. The taurine team even said this week that it will give its drivers equal chances to compete for the 2022 title.

The Azerbaijan GP, the next round of F1, is where Perez won in 2021. He believes this could if a good boost, but points out the difficulties of the capital's narrow street circuit.

"It was very special to win my first race with the team in Baku last season, it brought me a lot of joy. I like street circuits because that's where the driver can really make a difference," he explained.

"Of course it is easier to make a mistake when you are trying to go to the limit but at the end of the day that is what gives you the tenths you need to be competitive," he finished.
