Sergio Perez finished ninth in the second free practice session. The Mexican knows there is work to be done, but with rain forecast for Saturday he hopes Red Bull Racing can fight for pole position.

"We were trying. It was a day of trying different things to get comfortable with the car, and I think we understood the day well. Hopefully tomorrow we can show what we learned today and that translates with pace with too much and too little fuel," Perez told Sky Sports.

Saturday at the Hungaroring is expected to be very wet, with rain forecast throughout the day. Therefore, there is a good chance that we will see a wet qualifying session, something Perez is certainly hoping for to beat Ferrari.

"Certainly Ferrari looked very strong today. I think they are very fast. I hope it rains tomorrow so it can be a little more mixed. Hopefully we'll be there tomorrow," continued the Mexican.
