If it weren't for the punishment scheduled by the stewards, Perez might have been able to fight his way to the front, but instead the Mexican had to fight for the grid. He did just that, finishing fifth on the grid for the race.
Given his penalty, Perez is very happy with the result. "We managed to minimize the penalty," said the Red Bull driver on Viaplay. "We are back in the race, so I hope we can make it to the podium tomorrow." He also expressed confidence in the RB18, with which he believes he can fight for the top positions.
The number two in the championship is therefore confident that, together with teammate Max Verstappen, he can once again produce a strong result for Red Bull Racing. "I hope we have a good pace for tomorrow's race," Perez concluded.
