Ocon says Alpine "came alive" to take 6th place in Austria

Ocon praised Alpine's excellent performance at the Red Bull Ring. Now the focus is on getting valuable points for the team this weekend

Esteban Ocon qualified sixth in the sprint race at the Austrian GP after a good performance with Alpine during practice on Friday (8).

The Frenchman did not tire of praising the performance of the A522 that put the driver in good condition for a great result in the sprint race. "I'm very satisfied, it felt like the car really came alive from Q2, after a very challenging TL1 and Q1."

Ocon now looks ahead and sees tomorrow's race as a climb up the leaderboard for his team after the main race.

"We will start in a good position in the sprint and we need to solidify the grid position so that on Sunday we will get valuable points," said Esteban.

Fernando Alonso's teammate also pointed out that there is room for Alpine's growth on the Austrian track and it will be necessary to make some evaluations. "We have conditions to improve, now we will make an analysis of the car with more fuel, we should do it during TL2. I am very optimistic for the two races, now we need to keep our focus," Ocon added.
