Lando Norris surprised everyone during TL2 after finishing just behind Charles Leclerc on the last lap. Norris has been a victim, like many other drivers, of having an inconsistent car from week to week, but perhaps this weekend McLaren will finally stand out and they can fight at the front.

While it was no surprise to see Leclerc and Verstappen at the front, seeing a McLaren certainly was. However, Norris feels that tomorrow his McLaren could fall out of the front pack.

"Things are good. The car is in a good place and seems to suit this track or features a little bit more, for sure. But we are always a bit quicker in TL2 than in qualifying," Norris told Sky Sports.

"We know everyone else, especially Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes, usually step up a bit more tomorrow. I think we're feeling good and we've been saying the car is in a reasonable position. Probably a little bit ahead of where we were at Paul Ricard," he continued.

When asked about his chances for pole, Norris' answer was simple, "No!" But with Lando's supreme driving skills combined with the clearly improved performance in his car, maybe this weekend could be a chance to fight for first place.
