McLaren started the British GP weekend strong. Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo finished optimistic

The first day of activities of the Formula 1 British GP weekend on Friday (1) showed a strong performance from McLaren. The Woking team gave a favorable response after complicated stages in the recent past. Lando Norris admitted: the team is better than he himself imagined.
Norris approved the performance of the car at Silverstone and regretted only the fact that the strong wind hindered his piloting throughout the day. Even so, she finished third in the second free practice session.
"A decent day, quite complicated because of the gale we had here. It's strong gusts at high speed, so it makes it difficult to drive the car. It changes every lap, it's inconsistent, but that's how it is for everybody," he said.
"For our part, I think the performance of the car is at a reasonable point, a little better than we expected, so hopefully it can continue like that tomorrow," he added.

Daniel Ricciardo, birthday boy of the day, finished the second free practice in ninth place. He was 0s8 slower than his teammate, but still finished encouraged by what McLaren showed.
"The morning didn't have much, because of the weather, so we didn't run much, but the afternoon practice was better and we were able to lap a lot. Initially, we went out on the hard tires and it started well in terms of the feel of the car. We picked up the pace pretty quickly, but had some difficulty with the soft tires," he assessed.
"Being in the top-10 is positive. Looking at where Lando is is also a positive thing, so there is certainly more to take from the car. We're in a decent position, we'll learn a lot from both cars, make some setup changes, and have fun tomorrow," he finished.
On Saturday, TL3 opens the day at 8am (GMT-3), while qualifying starts at 11am.
