Lando Norris complained of an apparent fire outbreak in his McLaren car and stopped in the middle of TL1 in Austria, bringing out the red flag
With 39 minutes remaining in Friday's free practice session in Austria, Lando Norris began to lose power and was forced to stop on the Red Bull Ring track. Over the radio, the Englishman reported that there was smoke underneath his car and was instructed to get down quickly to avoid further problems in case of fire.
The stoppage brought out the red flag in TL1, led so far by Max Verstappen, followed by Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso. Norris was only 19th with McLaren.
