Norris calls for changes after Silverstone accidents

Lando Norris called for changes after two frightening incidents during the British GP weekend.

The Formula One race was red flagged shortly after the start due to a heavy crash by Zhou Guanyu. The Alfa Romeo driver flipped over, went over the tire barrier, and stopped at the protective fence.

This followed a dangerous collision between Roy Nissany and Dennis Hauger in the Formula 2 race. Hauger was pushed off the track by Nissany at Vale, flew over the zebra and crashed into his rival's car.

The halo protected Nissany's head - who received a five-place grid penalty for causing the incident - from the impact, and both drivers escaped unharmed.

Earlier, some drivers expressed concerns about the sausage-like zebras. Norris was asked if they should be banned and replied, "Yes.

"I think we've mentioned it several times. Maybe there is a year where you get away, nothing happens, and everybody thinks, 'It's okay. However, there are bizarre accidents."

"What you saw in the last corner in F2 can happen when you least expect it. I think the halo genuinely saved someone's life again today, which is good. But something needs to be done."

"It's always difficult because, regardless of what zebra is there and how high the driver is, a T-bump is never good. However, being thrown into the air is worse than a pure side impact in some circumstances."
