Mick Schumacher learned that "everyone is human" after struggling in both races in Austria against seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton last weekend.
The Haas driver fought hard with the seven-time champion Hamilton in Saturday's sprint race, before losing out in the final stages of the 100-kilometer event.
Schumacher dueled Hamilton again in the early stages of Sunday's race, overtaking Hamilton when the W13 skidded and rear-ended out of turn one on lap four. Then they dueled again in the following laps when Hamilton overtook him on the inside at turn seven.
Reflecting on his experiences, Schumacher explained, "The main thing I learned is that everyone is human, no one is infallible, everyone makes mistakes and everyone is under pressure."
"Sometimes it comes to a point where they make mistakes, so it's important for me to know that and not be afraid to fight with someone on the track."
Schumacher believes rivals struggle with updates
Haas is yet to introduce an upgrade package for the VF-22 and instead has been focusing on fine-tuning its existing specification.
It took Schumacher 30 races to score his F1 points before securing consecutive top 10 finishes in the last two events.
Asked why things seemed to finally fall into place, the German replied, "I don't know. It's always hard to say."
"We know what we need to make our car fast, we had a strong car at the beginning of the year."
"Obviously, a lot of teams brought updates. We went our way trying to refine the setup of the car, but then we came back to a very good setup, and now maybe the others are struggling with their new packages.
"All of that concludes the result we see."
