With the FIA's new "technical guidelines" to combat quiques, Mercedes in particular is under a magnifying glass. However, according to German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, the German team has brought an upgrade package to Montreal to remedy this.

The FIA decided to step in. After the Azerbaijan GP, there were many complaints (especially from Mercedes) about the quiques. Where the German team expected a rule that would be disadvantageous to everyone, it is now under a magnifying glass. With the new "technical directives," a car can no longer bounce so much, otherwise it has to be raised.

Changing the floor height would have consequences for Mercedes' performance. The W13 is now so low to compensate a little for the lack of pace. This sacrifices the drivers' comfort. At their own insistence, Mercedes will probably not be able to do this anymore.

However, Mercedes seems to have already acted on this, as AMuS reports that Mercedes brought a package of measures to the Canadian GP to reduce the kicks. This was already the plan before the FIA intervened.

The floorpan has now been made stiffer and additional grooves have been added. Whether this is enough to meet the new requirements will become clear at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
