After Ferrari's double abandonment due to the mechanical problems of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, Verstappen took a quiet victory after overtaking his teammate Sergio Perez on the 15th lap.
The two secured another double for Red Bull, with Verstappen taking the checkered flag 20 seconds ahead of Perez.
The result certainly pleased Marko, who told the Austrian broadcaster: "Order has been restored.
In the final stages of the race, Verstappen was warned not to attempt the fastest lap. However, Marko thinks the Dutchman looked for a way around this.
"He distracted everyone on the penultimate lap with his trick," claimed Marko. "Max said he had a brake problem, but then he did a purple sector.
The extra point for the best lap ended up with Perez, as Verstappen's attempt was four thousandths slower.
