Charles Leclerc abandoned Sunday's French GP after losing the rear end of his car and ending up on the tire barrier

And once again in the 2022 season, Charles Leclerc sees a possible victory slip out of his hands while leading. The Ferrari driver was quietly coming into first in this Sunday's (24) French GP, when he suddenly lost the rear end of his F1-75 and ended up in the tire barrier.
"Are you okay?" the Ferrari engineer asked over the radio, and all that could be heard was heavy, rapid breathing. "I can't accelerate! No!" shouted the Monegasque, incredulous at what had happened.
Leclerc had already suffered from an accelerator pedal problem in Austria, but still won at the Red Bull Ring. At the time, he said that the problem compromised between 20% and 30% of acceleration at low speeds.
This is the Ferrari driver's third retirement. Leclerc has already had two engine failures in 2022, in Spain and Azerbaijan.
