Leclerc preaches GP focus before F1 break: "I'm sure the results will come

Charles Leclerc comes into the British GP in third place in the Drivers' World Championship and 49 points behind leader Max Verstappen. The Ferrari Monegasque has not won since the Australian GP in April, and has seen Red Bull take control of the season, with Max winning 5 of the last 6 races.

In Red Bull's winning streak, Leclerc was on the podium only in Miami, and saw reliability problems take away a sure victory in Spain and a lead in Azerbaijan. The Monegasque preaches 100 percent stance from Ferrari to cash in on the loss.

"Obviously we are not in the best situation with the last few races, but we are always going to the limit. In the end, that's what we need to do if we want to win this championship. I'm sure the team will give 100 percent, I'll give 100 percent and we'll all be motivated to have cleaner races, have the pace and recover the points we lost in the last three races," said Leclerc, who was fifth in Canada after serving an engine change penalty.

"Overall, it has been difficult for the team, but I think the way we have worked since the beginning of the season has been extremely good, so that doesn't need to change. But of course, we had reliability problems that we need to fix as soon as possible. In this, I fully trust the team to be on top of this as soon as possible," he continued.

Leclerc also stressed the importance of the races in July to keep dreaming of the title. In addition to England, Formula One visits Austria, France and Hungary before the traditional summer break, with the World Championship only returning at the end of August.

"It's obviously important. I think the next four races will be very important before the summer break. Going into the vacations with four good races would be great. Now we need to focus on us. I think the performance is there, and we need clean weekends. I'm sure the results will come. But again, we need to focus on us and the rest will come," he concluded.
