After crossing the finish line in fourth, Leclerc was seen talking to Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto before the post-race meeting where he hopes to better understand everything that happened.
"He wanted to cheer me up," Leclerc explained when asked what had occurred between the two of them.
"We will have to look at the big div From my side, I only have the scenario of my race, and obviously you don't have the whole divin the car sometimes."
"I felt I lost a little too much time in the first stint and especially in the first part of the second stint, but that's just my opinion and it might change when I see the full div"
Despite his disappointment, Leclerc congratulated teammate Carlos Sainz on his first Formula One victory.
"I don't want the focus to be on my disappointing race, but rather on his incredible victory," Leclerc added.
"Obviously, the first win in F1 is always extremely special. It's great for the team and for Carlos."
"He has continued to gain confidence in the last few stages and he showed that today, so of course I am very happy for him."
