The French Grand Prix ended badly for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque was still in the lead after eighteen laps, but the driver crashed his Ferrari into the wall and was unable to continue his race.
A painful team radio followed, with Leclerc screaming in frustration. The Monegasque again takes zero points in the title fight against Max Verstappen. The Dutchman managed to take the lead of the race with the Safety Car. Leclerc confirmed to Sky Sports that it was his own fault.
"That spin was strange," Leclerc stated. "For me it was a mistake and we have to analyze it. I tried to push too hard and lost the rear. I struggled with the rear all weekend. I made a mistake at the wrong moment."
He is, therefore, quite angry with himself. "As I've been saying, I'm at the highest point of my career, and if I keep making these mistakes, it's useless to play at a very high level. I'm losing a lot of points. It's unacceptable. I have to move on. I try to analyze," Leclerc added.
