Charles Leclerc does not agree with the FIA's intervention when it comes to the quiques. According to the Monegasque, Ferrari has made great strides and it should all be dropped when the new rules come into effect.
On Thursday, news emerged that the FIA wants to intervene harshly against the problems of Formula One teams. While some drivers welcome the intervention, there are also those who don't consider it fair, like Leclerc. The Monegasque told Motorsport.com that Ferrari made reducing quiques a priority from day one.
According to Leclerc, Ferrari has made great strides when it comes to reducing the quiques. Partly because of this, he thinks the intervention is unfair because there is one team (Mercedes) that simply cannot control the problem. He suggests the solution of adjusting the floor height of the cars that suffer a lot from the clicking.
Leclerc admits that he understands why George Russell and Lewis Hamilton complain about the clicking. Leclerc saw Hamilton get out of his car in Baku and says he almost felt his pain. However, he stands by his opinion and thinks that a solution should be looked at on a team-by-team basis.
Formula 1 has been divided into two camps in recent days when it comes to quiques. Red Bull Racing has few problems, and therefore does not think it is necessary for the FIA to intervene. Haas' Guenther Steiner shares such an opinion. Mercedes, on the other hand, wants FIA intervention and has already received support from Pierre Gasly, among others.
