Leclerc and Sainz summoned by commissioners after qualifying

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were summoned to give explanations to the commissioners after qualifying for the Canadian GP.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were summoned to the stewards for explanations after qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix.

It was a different session for the Ferrari duo: Leclerc had already received penalties for changing engine components, meaning he will start at the back of the grid.

Sainz qualified third, behind pole position Max Verstappen and second placed Fernando Alonso.

However, the Monegasque and the Spaniard were both recalled by the stewards for allegedly going unnecessarily slow during the opening minutes of qualifying.

Both drivers and a team representative will have to talk to the commissioners at 18:30 local time.
