Charles Leclerc had dinner with his boss at Ferrari, Mattia Binotto, at the famous Hotel de Paris in Monaco on Wednesday.
This came amid widespread criticism against Leclerc's race strategy at the British GP, which paved the way for his teammate Carlos Sainz's first Formula One victory.
"They took the victory away from Leclerc," former F1 driver Marc Surer told .
"It can't get any more stupid than that," agreed Ralf Schumacher. "Leclerc was much better placed in the championship, and with such a close fight with Max Verstappen, they should have done everything to secure him the win, especially since Max had problems."
Eddie Jordan, former team boss in F1, added: "If you have friends like the Ferrari strategists, you don't need enemies."
Binotto was seen pointing his finger at a visibly angry Leclerc after the race at Silverstone, amid rumors that the Monegasque decided not to travel back together with his team on Sunday.
It is believed that he also did not attend a promotional event earlier this week, opting instead to return home to Monaco.
As for Binotto's dinner with Leclerc, fans snapped photos of the two as they parted amid smiles at 11 pm.
When asked on Sunday about the latest strategic blunder, Leclerc replied, "I don't want to comment on that right now, I just want to discuss with the team what was the cause so that it doesn't happen again."
