For the second time in a row, the Polish driver will drive C42 in the first session of the F1 weekend - this time at the Hungaroring

Just like in Spain and more recently in France last week, Robert Kubica will take the wheel of the C42. Also as in the other sessions, the Pole will drive Alfa Romeo's car in the first free practice of the weekend - this time in Hungary, home of the 13th round of the 2022 Formula 1 calendar, the last before the vacation break.
Alfa Romeo calls on Kubica for his experience and help in setting up the car for the round. In addition, as it has already stressed on other occasions, the team from Hinwil appreciates the support that the Polish driver offers in terms of developing the C42.
In Spain, Kubica replaced Guanyu Zhou in TL1. In France, the Polish driver took the place of Valtteri Bottas - who will once again give way to his teammate in the first F1 session at the Hungaroring.
It is worth remembering, however, that Alfa Romeo's decision is not in accordance with the sporting regulations for the 2022 season, in which there is a rule in which the teams of the world's main motoring category are obliged to field a rookie driver, "who cannot have participated in more than two F1 GPs", in at least two practice sessions.
In other words: Hinwil's team still needs to fit a driver into such a context - and the preferred name is Théo Pourchaire, but with the Formula 2 calendar full, the problem becomes determining, therefore, exactly where these sessions with the young driver will take place.
