Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldi had a hard recovery race in Formula 2 and reached the top-10 in Paul Ricard, France. The Charouz driver had to start 19th because of a five-place grid penalty, but even so he didn't give up on his efforts to get into the scoring zone.
"I'm happy with the pace we had today, we showed we have the potential to fight for the top positions and we overcame yesterday's difficult day with a good race, we got the strategy right and made several overtaking passes," said Enzo.
With this Sunday's result, Enzo reached 76 points in the season and is currently seventh in the points table. The Brazilian driver had a very complicated weekend because of the engine problem during qualifying, when he had the seventh best time and had to abandon Saturday's session.
"I believe we could have gone further this weekend, maybe even fought among the top five, but the problem in qualifying conditioned the rest of the stage here in Paul Ricard. We still managed to get this important point here today, and now we're already thinking about the Hungarian round, a track I really like, but very difficult to overtake", said Enzo.
Fittipaldi's next challenge will be next week, on July 30th and 31st, when Formula 2 will race at the Hungaroring.
