Christian Horner argues that Max Verstappen would have won pole position had Charles Leclerc not caused a yellow flag in the final minute of qualifying for the British GP. Despite this, Red Bull Racing is happy with Verstappen's second place and Sergio Perez's P4.

"Charles gave half a spin, Max lifted his foot at the (yellow) flag and lost 3/4 tenths for this," Horner told Sky Sports. The Red Bull team boss went on to say that he was happy for his former driver Sainz. "Congratulations to Carlos, he was always a demon in the wet when he was a junior for us."

The fact that Verstappen had to fight to win the British GP from second place is not necessarily disappointing to Horner: "Pleased to be on the front row. He had a moment when he did a 180 and lost only two seconds. That was ridiculous."

"He seemed very much in control, but it wasn't part of the plan. He likes to find the limit, but finishing on the front row is a good place to be," commented the Red Bull boss.

Exactly how Red Bull stands in relation to the others in the race simulation is hard to say. "Everyone did a four-lap simulation yesterday. An unknown, with Czech we have a lot of dynamics. The cars can follow each other more closely, which is crucial at (turn) Becketts, and the British summer will continue tomorrow. My forecast says 20 degrees with 10 percent rain," Horner concluded.
