Lewis Hamilton pinched his second podium in a row, this time at his home race, the British GP. Involved in a series of tight races, the seven-time champion valued the competitiveness Mercedes was able to present against the strong Red Bull and Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton was one of the great names of the British GP on Sunday (3). The seven-time champion actively participated in most of the main disputes for position, coming third after a very strong battle with Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc. Lewis was very satisfied, more than with the result, with the competitiveness of Mercedes, which stood up to the cars from Red Bull and Ferrari.
Hamilton valued the result in England and explained that he had no way to beat Pérez in the battle for second place for one reason: Red Bull's frightening straight-line speed.
"I gave it my all today, I tried my best to chase the Ferrari. Congratulations to Carlos, they were very fast today, we couldn't catch up. At the end I was in a battle with Perez and the guys are very fast on straights," he said.

The seven-time champion valued what the team did to reach the level of the rivals quickly. For Hamilton, Mercedes was competitive enough at Silverstone. The only thing missing was Red Bull's straight-line speed.
"I'm quite grateful for the team's work. And how quickly we got the updates, how we got one step closer to the opponents. We had good pace with both tires. We couldn't do more because you can't hold Red Bull on the straight, but it was good. I'm happy that everyone is okay after that huge crash at the start," he added.
Hamilton is still sixth in the Drivers' World Championship, but has climbed to 93 points, just 18 behind teammate George Russell, who was injured in the crash at the start.
