Toto Wolff was back to his playful side in front of the cameras, and Russell was over the moon for getting his first pole position. Despite the minor result, Hamilton remained extremely pleased that his team could get P1 on a Saturday.
"Congratulations to George. It's a great result for the team considering everything we've been through. It's huge," Hamilton told Sky Sports.
Hamilton explained why he was unable to join his new teammate on the front row. "I tried to open the DRS and it didn't open. Unfortunately. I was feeling great, for sure the front row was there. It would have been amazing to be on the front row for the team. But these things happen," he added.
