Gasly will see the streetcar pass with another year at AlphaTauri in the fall

Pierre Gasly has decided to stay at AlphaTauri for another year, but what happens after that? Are his chances of something more in Formula 1 over?

Gasly will see the streetcar pass with another year at AlphaTauri in the fall

Until the beginning of the year, Pierre Gasly was seen by much of the Formula 1 world as the hottest name on the driver market for 2023. Things went in a different direction, however. With few promising possibilities open, Gasly decided to renew his contract with AlphaTauri for another year. In recent times, this worked out well for the Frenchman, who had good cars and the chance to show on several occasions how talented he was.

The point is that times have changed. With new rules in place, AlphaTauri has plummeted and, besides starting the year below last year, is experiencing a low point after half a championship. Podium chances and many points have fallen behind: Gasly has scored points in only three of the 11 races of the season so far. It's a real danger that next year will be, like 2022 so far, more full of problems than brilliance. Is this how you will be able to make the leap in F1? Pedro Henrique Marum evaluates.
