Gasly shows concern for AlphaTauri at Silverstone: "Lacks aerodynamics

Pierre Gasly hopes Silverstone will be good for AlphaTauri, but also pointed out the aerodynamic problems of the AT03

Pierre Gasly decided his future last week: he will stay with AlphaTauri at least until the end of 2023. But the renewal did not come at a good time, as the Frenchman is still suffering from the Italian's problematic car. That's why he hopes that the British GP this weekend will be better than the previous rounds - even though he knows the difficulties.

"As for Silverstone this weekend, it's a circuit that I enjoy a lot, it's very fast and you have an amazing feeling of the car in some sections," Gasly explained.

"But we will have to see how we do because, being honest evaluating our car, we know that it lacks a bit of aerodynamics and we may have to deal with a weekend that may not be good for us," he continued.

So far, Gasly has only 16 points and is in 11th position in the Drivers' World Championship. In the Constructors' category, the team from Faenza is seventh, with 27 points. With so many problems and impasses, the #10 hopes that the AT03 will be able to at least take advantage of opportunities on a circuit like Silverstone.

"For now, we should be ready to take every opportunity that arises, even if on paper, Silverstone is tricky for us," he admitted.

"It is a 'home' race for Red Bull and, in a way, also for us, as our aerodynamics department and wind tunnel are located not far from the track. The atmosphere is very special and I'm looking forward to an interesting weekend.
