Pierre Gasly set the sixth best time in Friday's free practice in Baku and said he felt comfortable in the AlphaTauri car

Pierre Gasly has been milking the milk from a stone as best he can with AlphaTauri for the 2022 Formula 1 season, and it was no different in free practice this Friday (10) in Baku. The Frenchman finished Free Practice 2 in a good sixth place and was very excited for qualifying, although he recognizes that the car can improve.
In TL2 in Baku, Gasly set his best lap of 1min44s315, and although he was 1s behind leader Charles Leclerc, the fastest Ferrari driver of the day, he beat Mercedes' George Russell by 0s3. "So far, Baku has been amazing, I've really enjoyed it," said the driver of the #10 car. "It's a fun track to drive, and being a street circuit, the adrenaline is much higher, because you really ride on the limit," he stressed.
"The car is behaving well, I felt comfortable in both TL1 and TL2. At this point, therefore, there are a lot of positives," continued the driver.

In the last round in Monaco, Gasly also had a strong pace in free practice and looked like he was going to line up AlphaTauri even in the top ten. However, a team miscalculation prevented him from opening a lap to improve his time still in Q1. For this Saturday, however, the Frenchman is confident of a better performance, as he understands that the AT03 has more potential.
"We know that the battle will be on Saturday afternoon when everyone starts their engines looking for that extra pace, so we need to find something else tonight. Looking at the performance we have had so far, I think it will be good," he concluded.
Qualifying for the Azerbaijan GP is scheduled for this Saturday at 11am (GMT-3). Before that, at 8am, the drivers will have one more free practice session. GRANDE PRÊMIO follows all the activities LIVE and IN REAL TIME.
