Pierre Gasly denounced his 2022 car as "the slowest" in Formula 1.

Pierre Gasly has denounced his 2022 car as "the slowest" in Formula 1.
Recently, despite trying to move to a more competitive team, the Frenchman had his contractual option with Red Bull triggered for another season at AlphaTauri.
"He is definitely in the group of the best and most competitive drivers in F1 and has been proving his ability throughout his time with us," team boss Franz Tost said.
However, Gasly hinted that the competitiveness of his current car is not up to his talent. For him, AlphaTauri needs "a fresh start" because "it cannot continue like this."
"I try to do everything I can inside the car, but at the moment there is nothing to do, so I think we desperately need an upgrade on the car to get some decent result," Gasly said.
"At the end of the day, we just don't have the pace. You can do whatever you want, adopt any strategy, with the speed we have at the moment."
"We probably have the slowest car right now. It's really unfortunate to see that we are fighting for the last positions. We haven't had any new parts in the car for a long time and this is starting to show, so hopefully we'll get that update in France."
