Frustrations mount for Hamilton: "Worst I've ever felt in any car here"

Lewis Hamilton has a phenomenal record at the Canadian GP, with seven wins and six pole positions. But he will have to work a miracle to increase those stats this weekend with the Mercedes car off the pace.

Frustrations are mounting at the back of the Mercedes garage, with Hamilton late at night saying that "this car is very bad" to his mechanics seconds before his interview with Sky Sports.

Hamilton has only recorded better results at the British and Hungarian Grand Prixs. He knows Montreal like the back of his hand and hoped to get a better car by trying different things. But the British driver acknowledges that everything the team tries doesn't work.

"Pretty much like every Friday for us trying lots of different things. An experimental floorboard on my side that didn't work. Nothing we're doing for this car seems to work. We've been trying different fixes," he said.

"Me and George (Russell) used very different setups in TL2 just to see if one works. I'll wait to hear, but for me it was a disaster. It's like the car is getting worse. I'm getting more and more dissatisfied with what we do. We will keep working," Hamilton continued.

The Mercedes driver will work with his engineers overnight to try to make improvements to his car, although he is not confident as he admits that "it's the worst it's ever felt in any car here" and "it's just a monumental struggle all the time to keep it off the wall."
