And the free practice session in Austria on Friday (8), which precedes qualifying for the sprint race, was interrupted again by a red flag, but this time without any accidents or car breaks. What apparently "broke", in fact, was the Red Bull Ring circuit itself.

At turn 6, a piece of rubber ended up in the middle of the asphalt, and the replay later showed that it had come loose from part of the escape area, next to the zebra, after Kevin Magnussen had passed. The stewards were then called to remove the remaining rubber from the corner and re-clear the cars for the final 15 minutes of the session.

Max Verstappen still leads, followed by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
