Ferrari continues full steam ahead with its development program for the 2022 car.
According to the Italian newspaper , the team will try to put Charles Leclerc back at the top of the world championship with the help of an updated power unit.
The development, due to debut at next month's British GP, is supposed to be an upgrade of the electric or "hybrid" parts of the impressive 2022 engine.
There will also be minor updates to the car in Baku this weekend, followed by further significant aerodynamic developments the following week in Montreal and then at Spa in August.
As for the engine, the electrical upgrade for Silverstone is "the only area where improvements can still be made under FIA regulations."
"It is not only power, but also reliability, where developments are allowed."
However, Leclerc's allowed MGU-H units are running out. So, "if Ferrari changes the component before Silverstone, that could result in a grid penalty when the evolved version of the UP is introduced."
