In his second full season in F-E, the Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara arrives at the circuit Circuito urbano Moulay El Hassan ready to extract the maximum power from his Penske EV-5 of the American Dragon Penske team. On the other hand, in a very special way, Sette rekindles good memories of the track, since his first contact with a car of the category was exactly on that track, when he took part in a training session for rookies, in early 2020.
The track has 12 curves, 2.971 km in length, and a medium/high speed characteristic - something quite different from the other tracks of the season. Attack Mode will be located in Turn 3, and the most advantageous place to activate the 25 kW of extra power is on the longest straight of the circuit, located at the end of the last sector between Turns 10 and 11.
The official schedule for the weekend begins on Friday with a free practice session. On Saturday morning, the cars take to the track for another practice session, which will be followed by qualifying and, finally, the e-Prix, which will start at 1 pm on Saturday.
"I'm happy to return to Marrakesh and to be able to ride, again, on the track where I had my first experience with a Formula-E car. This weekend, besides the natural preparation for the race, we are paying special attention to the temperature of the battery. We will have the hottest round of the season, with an ambient temperature forecast of 32º, and the asphalt will certainly be over 50º. This worries us because, if the batteries have a very high temperature, the car simply goes into safety mode and stops where it is. The engineers are working on solutions for this problem and, of course, on improving the overall performance of the car so we can get our first points of the year," explained the 24-year-old driver.
